Auli is a hill station which resides in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state in India. It has rightly sprung its name Auli – meaning meadows, from the features of its topography. The hill station is placed on slopes also has far extending meadows that look fabulous to the eyes. Auli is affectionately mentioned to as a place where nature comes alive in all its glory and magnificence. It is splendid in natural resources and offers a beautiful landscape of the surrounding hills.


The hill station has a large quantity of wild plant and trees like deodars, oaks, coniferous and pine woods. The hills here are 9000 feet above sea level offer striking views of the nearby Himalayan peaks; like that of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dunagiri and Mana Parvat. There are a number of attractions at the hill station. The most famous one among tourists is the ropeway.

It is the highest and the lengthiest one not just in India but the entire of Asia and it offers outstanding views of the Himalayan peaks. Auli’s fake lake is another attraction which is one of the world’s top man-made lakes. Likewise, Chattrakund and Chenab lake are also two other lakes worth staying in Auli. Auli is also agreed as the skiing capital of India which clarifies how well the activity can truly be enjoyed here.

The winter months offer this electrifying experience and attract enthusiasts from across the globe. Other activities in Auli involve trekking to nearby peaks like Guarso and Kwani Bugyal. There is also a great possibility for camping in and around Auli. The cherry on top is the climate in Auli. The hill station being positioned on a slope is high in altitude but is also bounded by heavy vegetation of deodars and oaks. This controls the speed of the wind blowing here and thus, giving Auli a pleasing environment.
